Ababu Namwamba biography
Born on December 23rd, 1975 in Jinja Uganda, Namwamba spent much of his childhood at Budalangi in Busia County, Western Kenya.
He started schooling at Port Victoria Mixed Primary School and later joined Kolanya Boys High School for his secondary studies.
Good grades saw him join the University of Nairobi for a Bachelor of Laws degree. He eventually earned a diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law.
He now brags a Master of Laws degree in International Law from the American University Washington College of Law, Washington DC.
Activism and career history
In 2002, Namwamba launched The Chambers of Justice, a public interest trust to facilitate accountable government and social justice in the country.
In 2004, he won a landmark case in defense of a Kenyan-born Pakistani wrongfully accused of terrorism. As a result, he bagged the Global Justice Award.
Family and marriage
Namwamba is a polygamous man espoused to a couple of wives, Luciana Mimo and Paula Ann. For the record, Paula Ann is a former winner of the Miss Tourism Busia pageant contest.
Unfortunately, Namwamba and his first wife Luciana Mwaro divorced on allegations of infidelity. Their three children are now in their adult years.

Ababu Namwamba joined politics in 2007 as a member of parliament for Budalangi Constituency on the ODM party ticket.
In 2012, he was appointed Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs in the Grand Coalition government.
Namwamba proceeded to serve as the Parliamentary Secretary between 2008 and 2013.
His legacy in the cabinet includes the formation of the National Youth Service (NYS).
In 2016, Namwamba ditched ODM for the newly formed Labour Party of Kenya. In 2018, he was appointed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Chief Administrative Secretary.
