Safaricom and KCB launches Fuliza Ya Biashara for small business owners, how to activate

Fuliza ya Biashara is a credit facility launched to enable small business customers borrow money up to Ksh. 400,000. The facility is available on the MPESA business till and one is required to activate it by dialing *234#.

While launching it, CEO Peter Ndegwa stated that the facility will allow small business owners to complete their transactions by overdrawing when they do not have sufficient funds in their MPESA Business Tills.

“The facility allows business owners to complete transactions, by overdrawing their accounts, when they have insufficient funds in their M-PESA Business tills,’’

‘’A business owner will qualify for Fuliza after opting into the M-PESA Business till and must have been active on M-Pesa business service for over six months,” he stated.

Ndegwa also explained that this facility will apply when sending money to an individual, when making transactions from a Lipa Na M-Pesa business till to other till numbers, and when withdrawing to the nominated number or at an Agent.

“We launched Lipa Na M-Pesa as a way for businesses to conveniently receive cashless payments through their mobile phones, whenever they are,”

“Fuliza caters especially to small businesses by providing them with instant, affordable credit, empowering them to rapidly respond to their business needs,” Ndegwa said.

How to activate Fuliza Ya Biashara

Dial *234# from the nominated number.
Select M-PESA Business Till.
Go to business loans.
Select Fuliza ya Biashara.
Accept terms & conditions.
Enter your operator ID.
Enter the operator PIN.

After this the customer will receive a message notifying him/her about the product.

What is the duration of Fuliza ya Biashara?

Fuliza can be repaid within a duration of 30 days. Business owners are however encouraged to clear their Fuliza ya Biashara loans as soon as they can.

What can I do to grow my Fuliza ya Biashara limit?

To grow you Fuliza limit, you are supposed to encourage your customers to pay via Lipa na Mpesa. The more they transact via Mpesa, the more your limit grows.
