Former media personality Julie Gichuru announces the passing away of her father

Media personality Julie Gichuru has today morning announced the passing of her cherished father, Farooq Asif Butt. The heartbroken Julie posted a series of old photos of her father, a former soldier.

Julie Gichuru speaks about her dad’s death

Before retiring, Julie’s father served in the army as a colonel. The mother of five shared pictures of her father in uniform and wrote;

“An officer and a gentleman has rested. My father, Farooq Asif Butt, Lt Col (Ret) has rested,” she wrote

The television star expressed gratitude to her father for helping shape her into the kind, orderly person she is today.

‘’It is an honour to be your daughter. Thank you for consciously and deliberately nurturing me into a strong woman. Thank you for your love and your care. I honour you. I honour you,” she continued.

Julie expressed her gratitude to her father for his outstanding contributions to Africa and Kenya. The journalist said that she inherited her qualities from her father, who was a man of convictions.

“You lived a life of considered and unconventional choices – your choices. Boldly made. You loved and served Kenya — and Africa — fiercely, with commitment and dedication. You stood on your principles — unflinching, courageously. Your blood runs so strong in my veins – warm, loving, caring, and incredibly fierce when necessary,” Julie wrote.

Heartbroken Gichuru’s wish to her late dad

Even while they mourn their father in the world of the living, she hoped that their loved ones on the other side would honor him.

“May our loved ones on the other side welcome you with great love, pomp and ceremony, and may you feel the joy of that reunion, even as we grieve our loss here on earth,” she expressed herself.

According to the media celebrity, she would find solace in the knowledge that they will cross paths again in the afterlife.

“Kwaheri ya kuonana afande. My heart will take some take comfort in the knowledge that we shall be together again. I love you, dad. Thank you,” she added.
