How to get promotion letters
The commission stated that a list of those teachers who will be successfully promoted will be posted on TSC’s website.
The TSC released a list of promoted teachers last year, but it was tainted by accusations of corruption. This came after a few young teachers with current TSC numbers were given promotion positions while aged ones did not.
When did the interviews begin?
Promotion interviews for primary school teachers began on January 13th and have already been completed by TSC.
The promotion interviews for Secondary schools and Teacher Training Colleges began on January 27 and will end on February 6, 2025.
The commission had advertised 25,288 vacancies, both for primary and post primary teachers.
TSC had first posted 5,690 promotion slots for school administrators, which ran from November 12 to November 18, 2024.

Then, on December 17, 2024, it posted an online application for 19,943 more teaching positions in job groups C1 through D3.
Primary schools occupied 16,109 of these, while post-primary institutions occupied 9,179.
Similar to previous years, a significant number of teachers applied for various positions that were listed for this year’s promotions.
How many teachers applied for promotions?
TSC reports that 96,640 primary school teachers and 44,043 post-primary school teachers were among the 189,000 teachers who sought for promotions and were selected for further consideration.

Unlike previous years, the interviewing panels did not ask any questions at this year’s promotion interviews.
The interview panels, which included curriculum support officers, human resource officers, and sub-county directors, mostly restricted the interviews to document verification only.
During the interviews, teachers had to provide their identification, academic records, and a few other documents for validation.
However, according to the promotion scoresheet, aged teachers have a higher chance of getting promoted this year.
