Linet Chepkorir, famously known as Toto, has today surprised many Kenyans after being announced as the newly elected Women Representative Bomet County. The twenty-four old Toto came to the limelight a few months ago after she won the UDA ticket to vie for the seat. Is she the youngest elected Women Representative in Kenya?

On Wednesday, April 20, Bomet Governor, Hillary Barchok said that he would help Linet Toto in her campaigns as she was determined beyond measure.

Toto was today on August 11 announced as the new Women Representative Bomet County, thus making her the youngest elected Women Representative in Kenya. This shocked many Kenyans as she defeated her competitors who are more experienced and even wealthier.
The excited Chepkorir outdid her competitor Joyce Korir, who has been in office since 2017. Her other competitors were Beatrice Chepkorir, Cicilia Chepkoech, Eunice Cherono, Susan Koech, Brenda Chepng’etich, Stacy Chepkemoi, Eddah Chepkoech, Faith Chepkirui, and Joan Chekirui.
Governor Hillary Barchok’s support
Apart from financing her campaigns, Barchok had also gifted Chepkorir a brand new car to facilitate her movement around Mulot, Kapkwen, Chebole, Longisa, Kaplong, Ngererit, Mogogosiek, Boito, among other areas to look for votes.
“Hers is a story of resilience and believing in your dreams. She’s the true personification of Bottom-Up,” Barchok wrote.
Besides, he sponsored her homecoming ceremony at her home in Chemamul.
“Further to that, I shall sponsor her homecoming celebrations this Sunday at her Chemamul home. She has asked me to extend her invitation to you all,” Governor Hillary Barchok stated.
