The media personality was born as Kellen Beatrice Kanze Dena in Kwale, Kenya. She is the fourth born among the six siblings in her family. Unfortunately, Kanze was raised by a single mother as her parents divorced when she was four years.

Later in 2007, she joined Citizen TV as a news anchor and a news director at royal media services TV station. She then stayed at Citizen TV for a long time until 2018, when she resigned for a different job at State House.
