Again, he managed to clock 10.02 seconds, after which he qualified for the Toyko Olympics. On July 312021, he completed the Toyko Olympics, thus becoming the first Kenyan to qualify for the 100 meters semifinal race.
On August 4 2021, Omunyala set another record after completing a 100 meters race in 9. 86 seconds. He also clocked 9. 77 seconds at the Absa Kip Keino Classic Continental Tour in Nairobi, on September 8, 2021.
Finally, he wowed Kenyans on 30 Saturday July 2022, after he won Men’s 100 meters gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.
