The war-torn 2007 elections saw Kalonzo in third place after Kibaki and Raila. After that, he became a vice president and Home Affairs Minister until 2013. Raila wooed Kalonzo in 2013 under CORD. Unfortunately, the two principals lost to the youthful Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.
