After completing his primary final exams, he joined Lenana School from which he scored a C Plain in his KCSE. Due to fail in exams, he went to repeat in Tharaka Boys High School in order to meet his university pass mark.

He then enrolled at Moi University for a Bachelor of Law Degree and graduated in 1998. Again, he proceeded to the University of Pretoria, South Africa for a Master’s Degree of Law in International Human Rights Law and Democracy and graduated in 2000.

In 2001, he went to the Kenya school of law and attained an Advocates’ Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies. Later, he graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa with a PhD in International Law, thus making him a professor.
