The comedian was born as Timothy Kimani Ndegwa to Rev. Benard Ndegwa and Jane Njambi in 1991, Meru County. He is the first born in a family of two sons. Interestingly, Njugush brother, Ngugi Ndegwa, is a poet, scriptwriter, author and also an actor.

His educational background

Due to the nature of Njugush father’s work, their family kept shifting. It is for this reason that he took his primary education in 6 different schools, including Kawangware Primary School. In 2005, he attended Naaro High School where he scored a C+ in KCSE. Later, he joined Kenya Institute of Mass Communication for a course in journalism. This is where he began his career as an event emcee.

His career

Njugush was first auditioned as an actor at Kenya National Theatre, three days after completing secondary school. Upon joining KIMC, he went on to become the host of a reggae show on ECN, a TV channel belonging to the institution. In 2013, Abel Mutua contacted him for a role in Hapa Kule News, a comedy program, which aired on NTV. He rose ranks to become the program’s creative director. Later, he featured on The Real Househelps of Kawangware as one of the main characters, but left after two years.
