Arthur Sakaja joined active politics in 2005 when he was still an executive in SONU. His activeness in the much contested 2005 constitutional referendum exposed him to power. In 2007, Sakaja led Kibaki’s campaign team as a director of Vijana na Kibaki lobby group.

At the age of 26, Sakaja played a critical role in the forming of TNA Party alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto. His experience qualified him as the ruling party chairman until 2016 when TNA merged with 12 other parties to form Jubilee coalition. He eventually switched to the role of a nominated Member of Parliament.

In 2017, he became senator of Nairobi County with the Jubilee party ticket. He is equally holding the following positions;

  • Executive member of the Kenya National Private Security Workers 
  • Member of Liaison committee in the National Assembly
