Stephen Letoo started schooling in his hometown Kilgoris but later relocated to Kisii County because of insecurity. On completing his primary education, Letoo proceeded to Kabianga High School in Kericho County for his secondary education.

While at Kabianga, Letoo remained an active student in the Journalism club, drawing much inspiration from KBC state broadcasters. Further sources indicate that he initiated ‘Kabianga 100’ while at the Kericho-based institution. Thereafter, he pursued journalism and mass communication at the University of Nairobi.

“As a young boy, I could see many people visiting our home to watch TV. My father was a chief and he owned the only television in our village. I became an all-time fan and liked several KBC News reporters and news anchors.”

Again, if you get the very distinctive information that can make you work a talking point, you are torn between what to report and what you just have to let go….The moment you do it, they can easily come for you.”
