The United States Embassy has today on Wednesday, January 18, 2022 announced scholarships for Kenyan students who are under the Fulbright Foreing student programme. Explaining the importance, the embassy stated that the scholarships will enable Kenyan students study in the United States as well as carry out research.

2023 scholarships for Kenyan students
The embassy also stated that scholarship opportunities for Kenyan students are scheduled to start from 2024 to 2025, and approximated to take a duration of six months to one year.
“The academic year 2024-2025 typically corresponds to initial grant periods between August/September 2024 and May/June 2025; grant dates and grant lengths will vary by country and program,” read part of the statement.
It further explained that the programme will give both graduates and young professionals an opportunity to study abroad, meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, and share their daily experiences.
“Fulbright US Student Program offers unparalleled opportunities in all academic disciples to passionate and accomplished graduating college seniors, graduate students, and young professionals from all backgrounds.
“During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences,” read a statement on the programme’s website.
Eligibility for the scholarship programme
To qualify for the programme, one must be a Kenyan citizen and hold an undergraduate degree. Besides, he/she must have the necessary travel documents.
“In countries where the program is administered by the US embassy, applicants must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident qualified to hold a valid passport issued by that country.
“Applicants cannot hold citizenship in a partner country and US citizenship or permanent residency,” read another part of the statement.
